So, I’m working on something new, and I want to tell you about it. Lately, I’ve been feeling like keeping up with AI is exhausting. Every day, there’s a new tool, a new update, a new headline about how AI is going to take all our jobs. And honestly? Most of it isn’t useful. I don’t believe AI is something to fear, instead it’s something to use intentionally to work smarter and build the future we actually want (with Human Ambition at the forefront). I don’t need another hype cycle or another flood of AI release notes. What I do need is a simple way to actually put AI to use without spending hours sifting through noise. And I figured… if I feel this way, I’m probably not the only one. The Problem: AI Is a Mess to Keep Up WithIf you’re not actively glued to AI news, it’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind. Here’s what’s out there: ❌ Over-the-top hype and fear-mongering (“AI is replacing your job!”) ❌ A nonstop flood of new tool announcements (90% of which you’ll never use) ❌ Philosophical discussions about the future of AI (cool, but not immediately helpful to busy knowledge workers) What’s not out there? A simple, no-BS way to learn how to actually use AI in your daily work. So, I decided to make one. What I’m Building: Idea Kitchen 🍳It’s called Idea Kitchen, and it’s a new newsletter that’s all about quick, actionable ways to use AI to save time without the fluff. Each issue will be structured like a recipe: ✅ A simple AI use case (ex: “How to automate your inbox in 5 minutes”) ✅ Clear, step-by-step instructions (so you know exactly what to do) ✅ No jargon, no overwhelm, just results Basically, I want it to feel like a cookbook for AI. Open it up, follow the steps, and immediately put it to work. Why I’m Doing ThisEven with years of experience in AI (robotics, AI services, product development) I still felt overwhelmed trying to catch up after returning from maternity leave. I wanted a shortcut, a way to quickly understand what’s actually useful and how to apply it. But I couldn’t find it. So, I’m making it. And now, I want to share it with you. Want to Get the First Issue? If this sounds like something you’d be into, you can sign up here: It’s actionable, it’s practical, and I promise it won’t be another AI newsletter full of empty noise. If you want to actually use AI, not just read about it, this is for you. New recipes are launching next week. Let me know what you think. I’d love to hear if this is something you’d find useful! 🚀 Best, Marissa P.S. I’ve written 60+ issues of this newsletter and that’s not changing anytime soon. Remotely Interesting will continue as always, this is just a new way to share how I'm using AI in a fun format. |
9-5, Monday-Friday, in-person office work are all relics of the past. Let's revolutionize how you live by changing how you work.
Last week, someone called me out. They noticed I was working on a Sunday night and pointed out the contradiction: I regularly advocate for healthy work practices, yet here I was… answering emails on a weekend. To them, I was sending a dangerous message. “You’re telling people to rest,” they said, “while secretly doing the opposite to get ahead.” I paused when I read that. Not just because it was entirely wrong, but because it missed something deeper. Something I wish more people understood...
